Pool repair for Suffolk County pools, from pumps to cracked tile to hidden leaks

A pump that groans, a crack at the waterline, water level that keeps dropping: we find the cause, fix it properly and get the pool back to working order.

Chapter 01

The signs a pool needs more than a cleaning

Most pool trouble announces itself. The pump grinds, hums or loses prime. The filter pressure climbs and the water never quite clears. Tile along the waterline chips or lifts, a hairline crack opens in the shell, or the surface turns rough underfoot. And the one that worries people most: the water level keeps falling faster than the weather explains.

Any of these is worth a call to (631) 599-4175. A free inspection costs nothing, and catching a small problem early is nearly always cheaper than waiting for the pool to force the issue. We repair pools in every Suffolk County town, from Babylon and Islip out through Riverhead, Southold and the Hamptons.

Leak detection: telling evaporation from a real leak, and finding where it hides

Every pool loses some water to sun and wind, so the first job is to separate evaporation from a leak. A simple bucket test does it: a bucket of pool water sits on the top step with its level marked inside and out, and after a day the two levels are compared. If the pool drops further than the bucket, water is leaving through the structure or the plumbing.

From there the search narrows to the usual hiding places. Skimmer throats pull away from the deck. Return fittings and their gaskets weep. Light niches leak around the conduit. Buried plumbing can fail at a joint. In a vinyl pool the liner can split at a seam or a fitting, and in a gunite pool a crack in the shell may be the path. Each is tested on its own until the leak is found.

Once we know where the water goes, the fix is aimed at that spot instead of guessed at: a reseated fitting, a repaired line, a patched liner or a sealed crack. Booking is simple. Call (631) 599-4175 or send the details, and we will schedule the inspection two days ahead.

Chapter 03

Pumps, filters, cracks and resurfacing, repaired to last

Equipment repair often ends in replacement. When a pump or filter is past saving, we replace it with a unit that suits the pool, connect it to the existing plumbing and check the flow and pressure before we leave. Tile repair means lifting the failed pieces and setting new tile along the waterline, matched as closely as the pattern allows.

Cracks are patched and sealed, and a worn or stained surface can be resurfaced so the pool is smooth again. When the repairs start to add up, we will tell you honestly whether a larger pool remodel makes more sense. Licensed and insured, License: #L006306, with more than 20 years of work behind every fix.
